Are you growing a garden this year?
Each year, we enjoyed larger yields and our garden would get more exotic, a little more elaborate and a little more rewarding. We’ve learned to deal with aphids, black dot, fungus, powdery mildew, june beetles, grubs, over watering, under watering, bottom rot and more. Our biggest enemy was ourselves. As the weather got warmer, our enthusiasm would wane. Our free time better spent enjoying the summer. Having summer fun means less time for weeding, less time for watering and caring for our garden. But we carried on, each year trying to get better. Last year, our biggest accomplishment was purple sweet potato. We grew raspberries, cucumbers, lettuces, peas, beans, herbs kale, lots of hot peppers, cucumbers but we failed at broccoli rabe, romanesco and exotic mint.
